Foreign investor (“FI”) is an individual with foreign nationality or an organization established under foreign law conducting business investment activities in Vietnam.
1. Procedures for opening a securities account for foreign investors:
Step 1: Register a Trading Code ("TC") with the Vietnam Securities Depository and Clearing Corporation (VSDC). This code is unique to each investor.
Step 2: Register for a unique Indirect Investment Capital Account ("IICA") at 01 custodian bank such as: BIDV, Vietcombank, Shinhan Bank, HSBC, Standard Chartered Bank,... (For detailed information, please contact the bank for advice).
Step 3: Complete the registration form to open an account with VNDIRECT.

3. Non-prefunding Services
NPF registration procedure: Foreign investors who wish to register, please contact the Institutional Customer Department directly via email: Team.IST@vndirect.com.vn

4. How we receive documents:
Foreign investors can either visit in person or send documents by post to the nearest VNDIRECT office or send documents to VNDIRECT's sales staff.
5. Principles for declaring information in securities account opening documents:
- The application must be fully completed with the foreign investor’s information and the registered products or services. The application must be written in blue ink, without correction, erasure or deletion.
- The foreign investor’s information on the Account Opening Agreement/Securities Trading Code Registration Form must match the information on the Passport/Incorporation Registration Certificate/Business Registration Certificate provided by the investor.
- The signatures of the Investor and Related Parties (if any) on the documents must be signed in blue ink, with full name clearly written. Individuals should not use a name stamp or a signature stamp. For organizations, the seal must be clear and not smudged.
