A conditional order is an important tool that helps investors optimize their trading by setting automatic criteria to buy/sell stocks when the market reaches the desired price level. This feature provides benefits in minimizing risks and seizing timely opportunities as the market fluctuates.
1. How to Place a Conditional Order
Step 1: Log In to Your Account

Security Authentication:
Enter your username/password and OTP code.
Step 2: Place the Conditional Order
Choose order type: Buy or Sell.

Enter information:
Order Price: Desired buy/sell price.
Transaction Quantity.
Activation Condition: Market price that needs to be reached to activate the order.
Expiration Date: The date when the conditional order will no longer be valid.

Confirm:
Click Buy/Sell to complete the order placement.
Step 3: Monitor the Conditional Order

The status of the conditional order will be displayed in the Conditional Orders Book, including:
Activated.
Untriggered.
Expired.
You can cancel or modify the conditional order in the Conditional Orders Book if the conditional order is Untriggered.
2. Important Features of Conditional Orders
Conditions and Validity of the Order:
Only supports Limit Orders.

Order Activation:
When the market price meets the activation price condition.
Before 2:30 PM on the trading day.
The account must have sufficient buying power (for buy orders) or sufficient shares (for sell orders).
Validity:
A conditional order is activated only once.
If activated, the order will expire at the end of the session, regardless of whether it is matched or not.
Unactivated orders will expire on the expiration date, which is a maximum of 30 days from the date of placement.
Canceling and Modifying Orders:
You can cancel or modify the conditional order in the Conditional Orders Book if the conditional order is Untriggered.
You can cancel or modify the conditional order in the Limit Orders Book if the conditional order has been activated but not matched.
Special Cases:

Non-rights Shares:
VNDIRECT will cancel all conditional orders placed before 8pm with symbols in Ex-dividend date to prevent risks for Customers account everyday.

Before Trading Hours and ATO Session (HOSE):
The reference price (if there is no first matched price) is considered the nearest price to activate the order.
Notes When Using:
Carefully check the order conditions to avoid mistakes.
Regularly monitor the status of your orders in the Conditional Orders Book and the Limit Orders Book.
